  • Kybella is FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe fat under the chin (submental area), though it is on occasion used off-label for small pockets of fat in other areas, depending on your provider.

  • Kybella contains synthetic deoxycholic acid, which breaks down fat cells. Once destroyed, the fat cells are naturally eliminated by your body and cannot return.

  • Most clients need a series of 2–4 treatments spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Since each person is unique, some individuals may require up to 6 sessions for optimal results.

  • You may feel a slight stinging or burning sensation during the injections. A topical numbing agent or ice can be applied to enhance comfort.

  • Swelling is common and may last several days to a week after each session. Mild bruising or tenderness may also occur but typically resolves quickly.

  • Yes. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they are permanently removed. Maintaining a stable weight will help preserve your results.

  • Visible contouring is often seen after 2–3 treatments, with full results appearing several weeks after your final session.
